Preparations are underway for voting in the gubernatorial General Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The ballot boxes have been set up, sample ballots are being mailed, and requested mail-in ballots are being delivered. To connect with voters, candidates for local and state office are hosting listening sessions, knocking on doors, and participating in meet-and-greets and political forums.

As voters consider their choices, the Baltimore County Board of Elections reminds them they can vote in one of three ways: mail-in ballot, in person during the early voting period on Oct. 22-29, or in person on Election Day Nov. 3.

Early Voting

Residents can vote in person at one of the county’s 11 early voting sites Oct. 22-29 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.  The locations include Arbutus Recreation Center, Board of Elections-Owings Mills office, Randallstown Community Center, Reisterstown Senior Center and Woodlawn Community Center.

Mail-in Ballots

Across the state, more than 597,100 voters have requested mail-in ballots as of Oct. 1, according to the Maryland State Board of Elections. More than 87,152 of those requests are from Baltimore County voters. The total includes voters who requested that ballots be delivered by mail as well as those who requested print-at-home ballots via email.

To vote by mail, Baltimore County voters must request a mail-in ballot from the State Board of Elections or the local board.

To receive a ballot via mail or fax, your request must be received (not just mailed) or submitted online by Tuesday, Oct. 27. To receive one via email, you must submit your request online no later than Friday, Oct. 30.

Voters are urged to return their ballots as soon as possible to avoid potential U.S. Postal Service delays. The ballot, which comes with a postage-paid return envelope, must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. on Nov. 3. If returned by hand, county voters must drop their ballots in one of the 38 secure ballot drop boxes or at the Board of Election office at 5 Crossing Way in Owings Mills before 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.
