If you are concerned that a loved one is at risk for overdosing on heroin or prescription pain medication, the Baltimore County Department of Health is offering free training on how to recognize and prevent an opioid overdose on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Liberty Family Resource Center, 3525 Resource Drive, in Randallstown.
The training also will instruct how to respond to an overdose by administering intra-nasal naloxone, a prescription medication that is used to reverse an overdose. Participants will receive a completion certificate, a prescription for naloxone, and a kit containing the medication.
Due to limited seating, pre-registration is required. Register online at baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/health/events/odresponse.html.
