Be a good, watchful neighbor and report any suspicious activity in your community. That the well-dressed person trying your neighbor’s lock may not a trusted friend or family member; the vehicle that has been parked across the street may have been involved in a crime; or the constant barking of dogs at the house next door may be a sign that something is wrong. If you suspect something, say something. Call 911 and let the police check things out. If you’re part of a neighborhood association, be sure to invite a member of the Police Department to your meetings to talk about crime trends in your area and how to prevent them.
