Baltimore County Executive Katharine Klausmeier has named Pikesville resident George White to serve another term on the Baltimore County Commission on Veterans’ Affairs.
White, a retired Sergeant First Class, served in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army and National Guard, will begin his term effective July 30. He previously served on the commission from 2022 to 2025, including in the role of vice chair.
The commission’s membership includes five appointments from the county executive, one from each of the county’s seven council members, and ex officio representation from various county departments. Members serve a three-year term.
White expressed appreciation for Klausmeier’s confidence in the value and dedication he brings to the commission. “While I was not reappointed by the current District 2 councilman, I was pleased that County Executive Klausmeier recognized that my expertise could be of use and graciously reappointed me to the commission,” White said.
The Commission on Veterans’ Affairs was established to support and advocate for veterans and their families and connect them to resources through education and outreach. In recent years, the commission expanded its community outreach and work with relevant government agencies.
On Nov. 8, the commission will host its annual veterans’ celebration at Towson University. Details will be posted.
